Alumni Gathering & 25th Anniversary Celebration of FST UIN Jakarta: “Stronger Together: Alumni and Faculty Shaping the Future”

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held its 25th Anniversary Celebration and Alumni Gathering on Saturday, 15 November 2025, carrying the theme “Stronger Together: Alumni and Faculty Shaping the Future.” The event served as a strategic forum to strengthen the synergy between the faculty and its alumni in shaping the future of science and technology education amid rapid technological advancements.

The program opened with a Committee Report delivered by Fahri Fahrudin, M.Si., who presented an overview of FST’s latest developments, achievements, and contributions in academic innovation and research advancement.

This was followed by a welcome speech from the Dean of FST, Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D., highlighting the essential role of alumni networks in elevating the faculty’s academic reputation and collaborative potential. Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, Ph.D., then delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of alumni engagement in supporting the university’s mission.

A keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Najib Burhani, M.A., Vice Chair of the IKALUIN Board and currently the Director General of Science and Technology at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) of the Republic of Indonesia. In his presentation, he underscored the importance of research capacity-building, digital transformation, and alumni collaboration as key drivers for national innovation and competitiveness.

The event continued with interactive games, followed by a series of alumni sharing sessions, where inspirational alumni from each study program shared career insights, industry experiences, and collaboration opportunities. These sessions reinforced the vital role of alumni as partners in strengthening academic and professional ecosystems.

The program also featured musical performances, the announcement of the new IKALUIN FST Board, and a presentation from Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as an institutional partner. The celebration concluded with the symbolic 25th Anniversary tumpeng-cutting ceremony, followed by a group photo session with participants, faculty leaders, and alumni.

Through this event, FST UIN Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to expanding alumni engagement, fostering academic collaboration, and preparing future scientists and professionals through a strong, united academic community.
