Beyond Tolerance: International Public Lecture with the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Jakarta and Maxy Academy Discuss about Faith and Prosperity in the Digital Era

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in collaboration with MAXY Academy, successfully held the International Public Lecture “Beyond Tolerance: Faith and Prosperity in the Digital Era” on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the FST Theater Hall, 2nd Floor. The event brought together renowned international scholars to explore the intersection of faith, pluralism, digital transformation, and human flourishing.

The program was officially opened by Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D. (Rector of UIN Jakarta), followed by remarks from Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, M.Si. (Dean of FST), and Isaac Munandar (CEO & Co-Founder of MAXY Academy).

Four distinguished speakers delivered keynote presentations:

  1. Dr. Kim Tan (Founder, TBN Movement & Chairman, Springhill Management UK)
    His session, “Faith and Free Enterprise: Social Impact Investing for Human Flourishing,” highlighted how faith-driven principles can shape ethical entrepreneurship and impact investing models that uplift communities.

  2. Dr. Chris Stewart (Retiree Chief Grants Officer, Templeton Religion Trust)
    Presented “Progress in Religion & Covenantal Pluralism”, offering a framework for interfaith cooperation built on mutual respect, shared responsibility, and active engagement.

  3. Dr. Ali Qadir (Associate Professor of Sociology, Tampere University, Finland)
    Delivered a talk titled “Mysticism, Spiritual Discovery, and Pluralism in Practice,” unpacking how spiritual exploration contributes to social harmony and inclusive pluralism.

  4. Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D. (Professor of Philanthropy, UIN Jakarta)
    Discussed the role of philanthropy, ethics, and spirituality as pillars of social development in the digital age.

Designed as a cross-disciplinary academic forum, the Public Lecture fostered dialogue between faith, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. Through a panel discussion and interactive Q&A, participants explored how spirituality and collaborative pluralism can drive prosperity and social impact in an interconnected world.

The event concluded with a guided visit to the Innovation Impact Hub, FST UIN Jakarta, marking strengthened collaboration in research, innovation, and youth talent development.
