Bridging Theory and Industry: UIN Jakarta’s Faculty of Science and Technology Information Systems Program Holds a Company Visit to Telkomsigma Serpong

The Information Systems Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully organized a Company Visit to one of Indonesia's leading ICT and Data Center service providers, PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (Telkomsigma). The off-campus academic event, attended by dozens of undergraduate students and accompanied by faculty members, took place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Telkomsigma operational office in Serpong, South Tangerang. This strategic visit was designed to provide students with deep insights into the practical implementation of information technology within the industry, particularly in large-scale data center management, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

The itinerary commenced with a warm welcome from Telkomsigma's management, who highly appreciated FST UIN Jakarta's initiative to bridge students with the professional work ecosystem. Representatives from Telkomsigma then presented a comprehensive material covering digital transformation, latest technological trends, and future challenges in the IT industry. Moving beyond theoretical presentations, the students were also given a valuable opportunity to participate in an office tour, observing the dynamic corporate work environment, and engaging in direct interactive discussions with tech practitioners who are experts in their respective fields.

Information Systems Study Program at FST UIN Jakarta stated that this Company Visit is part of the department's firm commitment to supporting the "Link and Match" policy between university academic curricula and the tangible needs of the workforce. By interacting directly with a top-tier tech industry player like Telkomsigma, students are expected to effectively align the theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms with professional standards on the field. This collaboration is envisioned to continue sustainably, fostering competent, globally competitive Information Systems graduates who are ready to drive national digital transformation forward.
