Curriculum Discussion to Research: Pertamina University Chemistry Study Program Benchmarking to FST UIN Jakarta Chemistry Study Program
The Chemistry Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirmed its strong academic reputation as the Chemistry Department of Universitas Pertamina conducted a benchmarking visit to learn from its curriculum, teaching practices, and research ecosystem.
The session was opened by Prof. Dr. La Ode Sumarlin, M.Si., who emphasized the department’s commitment to quality assurance, OBE-based curriculum refinement, and the integration of research into student learning. Representatives from Universitas Pertamina, Dr. Muttaqi, M.Si. and Dr. Suharti, M.Si., engaged in an in-depth discussion with the Chemistry Department team regarding its curriculum design, academic innovations, and key strengths.
A highlight of the visit was the tour of the PLT Laboratory of FST UIN Jakarta, a flagship facility supporting advanced research, experimental learning, and laboratory safety systems. The visitors expressed appreciation for the modern instrumentation, structured laboratory workflow, and the department’s implementation of project-based learning.
This benchmarking activity further strengthens the position of the Chemistry Department of FST UIN Jakarta as a leading academic reference, contributing to curriculum excellence, research development, and laboratory innovation for partner universities nationwide.
