FST UIN Jakarta Explores International Collaboration with Japanese Companies and Organizations
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, explored potential international collaboration with Japanese companies and organizations on Thursday, 11 September 2025. The meeting brought together academic leaders, lecturers, alumni, and Agribusiness students, some of whom had previously joined internship programs in Japan.
Representatives from UIN Jakarta included the Head and Secretary of the Agribusiness Study Program, lecturers, and alumni. On the Japanese side, attendees included Kazushige Goto (Executive Director, INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RESOURCE SUPPORT ORGANIZATION/IHRSO), Hiromi Goto (Deputy General Manager, Global Employment Promotion Department, TSUNAGU GROUP HOLDINGS Inc.), Miyu Gensui (Manager, PORTERS Corporation), and Ken Mitsui (Managing Director, PORTERS Corporation). The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Masbukhin from UIN’s Supervisory Board and Mr. M. Teguh Setiabasa from Liana.Segrus Co., Ltd.
The session began with mutual introductions, followed by a presentation on FST and its Agribusiness Study Program, highlighting the internship program in Japan that has been running for almost four years. The Japanese representatives expressed great interest in the internship experience of Agribusiness students and conveyed their readiness to collaborate in graduate employment opportunities.
They emphasized that Agribusiness graduates from UIN Jakarta possess strong competencies not only in agriculture but also in agricultural product processing, making them suitable candidates for roles in food processing industries. The discussion further involved alumni who shared their experiences, challenges, and aspirations to return to work in Japan.
Overall, the meeting concluded positively, with both sides showing strong interest in pursuing cooperation. This initiative marks a strategic step for FST UIN Jakarta in strengthening global partnerships and enhancing the international competitiveness of its graduates.
