On September 19, 2023, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Mining Engineering Study Program conducted a field trip or industrial visit to PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI) Narogong site. PT SBI, a company operating in the cement industry, became the destination of this visit because of their limestone mining activities as their main raw material.

At PT SBI, the limestone mining process uses the Open Pit Mining Method. The students of the Mining Engineering Study Program had the opportunity to witness and understand firsthand the stages of the method. This industrial visit not only provides practical insights into mining operations but also strengthens students' skills and knowledge related to technical aspects of the mining industry.

This field trip activity is expected to provide valuable experience for students, open their horizons to real practices in the field, and strengthen the link between the theory learned in class and its application in the industrial world.
