Master Study Program and Undergraduate Agribusiness Study Program Organize Studium General Activities with the theme "Carut Marut Problems of Import and Export in Indonesia"
The Master’s Program and the Undergraduate Program in Agribusiness at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Jakarta, successfully held a Studium General event in the Theater Room on the 2nd floor of the Faculty of Science and Technology on Monday, June 24, 2024. The event featured Mr. Yeka Hendra Fatika, S.P. from the OMBUDSMAN RI for the 2021-2026 period as the guest speaker.
The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Mr. Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., warmly welcomed the Studium General organized by the Agribusiness Study Program. "Today's event is highly relevant to addressing agribusiness issues in Indonesia. It is hoped that students will gain additional knowledge about the export-import system, particularly agricultural commodities in Indonesia," said Mr. Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc, Ph.D.
In his presentation, Mr. Yeka Hendra Fatika, S.P., as a member of OMBUDSMAN RI, explained that "OMBUDSMAN RI, according to the law, is designated as a public service supervisory institution."
Furthermore, Mr. Yeka Hendra Fatika, S.P. added, "Potential maladministration in export management includes obstacles in importing raw materials, lack of government affirmation for exporters, and corrupt practices by service providers. Meanwhile, potential maladministration in import management includes non-harmonious regulations, bottlenecks in the licensing system, suboptimal data integration, and corrupt practices by service providers." He explained this as the guest speaker.
Towards the end of the event, a question was raised about how the public can file complaints about public service maladministration to OMBUDSMAN. "Complaints can be submitted through the OMBUDSMAN website/social media, keeping the identity of the complainant confidential," said Mr. Yeka.
With this Studium General event, it is hoped that all participants, both students and the academic community, can benefit from understanding the role of OMBUDSMAN RI in preventing maladministration in export-import management.
