Muhammad Fayaadh Rifki, a student of the Chemistry Study Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, has been awarded Best Presentation at the 2025 UISO National Scientific Essay Competition. His essay, titled “Circular Carbon System: Transforming Empty Palm Oil Bunch Waste and CMC Hydrogel from Coconut Coir into Adsorbent Materials for Greenhouse Gas Capture to Support Sustainable Climate Action,” impressed the judges with its innovation and technical depth.

His work presents a sustainable solution for converting agricultural waste into eco-friendly adsorbent materials to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with circular economy principles. The clarity, originality, and potential real-world impact of Fayaadh’s presentation made it stand out among participants.

The UISO competition featured several categories, including the Olimpiade Sains Pelajar (OSP), Study Case Competition (SCC), and Esai Gagasan Kritis (EGK), each designed to challenge participants’ scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Fayaadh’s achievement further highlights FST UIN Jakarta’s excellence in fostering young scientists who contribute innovative, impactful solutions to global environmental challenges.
