The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta initiated a strategic partnership with the Iranian Cultural Counselor, Yahya Jahangiri, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The meeting focused on expanding international academic networks, addressing student ratio disparities between Iran and Indonesia, and fostering impactful scientific collaboration.

During the discussion, Jahangiri offered various opportunities, including scholarship openings for UIN students and the exchange of academic products to strengthen bilateral synergy. A key highlight of the proposal is the support for 5 to 10 FST professors to conduct research visits to Iran for one to two months, complemented by various available benefit schemes.

The collaboration will emphasize student mobility through independent University-to-University (U-to-U) schemes. Furthermore, both parties are committed to enhancing academic quality through joint research programs aimed at achieving collaborative scientific publications. Yahya Jahangiri expressed his readiness to facilitate communication between universities in both countries to ensure the successful alignment of these exchange programs.
