Strengthening Global Networks: FST UIN Jakarta Initiates Strategic Partnership with The University of Edinburgh
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially marked a significant milestone in its internationalization efforts by initiating a partnership with The University of Edinburgh, UK. The high-level meeting took place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the FST Main Meeting Room.
The session was attended by prominent university leaders, including the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Din Wahid, Ph.D.; the Head of LP2M, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D.; and the Dean of FST, Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D. Also in attendance were Harry Lim (President Director of PT Arta Alam Prima) and delegates from The University of Edinburgh, Professor Jacques Fleuriot and Professor Neil Robertson.
During the meeting, FST showcased its premier scientific clusters focusing on Islamic research and digital transformation. The presentations highlighted several cutting-edge projects:

Green AI: Sustainable and eco-friendly artificial intelligence innovations.

Big Data for Religious Studies: Utilizing AI to analyze religious content and narratives.

Islamicpedia (AIRIS): An AI-driven platform for Islamic literacy.

Coconut Research: AI-based sorting technology for coconuts and copra to empower the agricultural industry.
The Dean of FST, Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D., stated that this cooperation is expected to expand into broader academic activities, such as student mobility and student exchange programs. He emphasized that involving students in international collaborations is crucial for fostering global competencies and future research breakthroughs.
