Towards International Standardization: PLT FST UIN Jakarta Conducts ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Field Assessment Simulation
In a strategic move to enhance laboratory service quality and strengthen competitiveness at both national and international levels, the Integrated Laboratory Center (Pusat Laboratorium Terpadu - PLT) of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully organized an Accreditation Field Assessment Simulation for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 on Friday, July 3, 2026. Held at the PLT FST UIN Jakarta building, this event serves as a crucial milestone in preparing for the official accreditation process based on the international standard for testing and calibration laboratory competence. The leadership of FST UIN Jakarta emphasized that pursuing this accreditation is far beyond a mere administrative achievement; it represents the institution's concrete commitment to establishing a professional, reliable laboratory capable of generating valid and accountable testing data to support higher education's three pillars and industrial partnerships.
During the simulation, the team conducted a thorough review of various essential aspects, meticulously designed to mirror the actual field assessment process executed by the official accreditation body. This comprehensive evaluation covered documentation systems, quality control, personnel competence, testing method validation, measurement traceability, equipment management, and risk management implementation to ensure all personnel thoroughly comprehended the assessment workflow. Beyond evaluating technical aspects, the simulation acted as a strategic mechanism to identify potential non-conformities, draft corrective actions, and reinforce inter-unit coordination. Through this rigorous initiative, FST UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirms its vision of fostering a sustainable culture of quality, transforming the laboratory into a modern facility widely trusted by the government, business sectors, industries, and the public.
