On August 5, 2024, the Faculty of Science and Technology held a workshop titled "Enhancing Cooperation between the Mining Engineering Program and PERHAPI," featuring Ir. Rizal Kasli, IPU, ASEAN, Eng., who also serves as the Chairman of PERHAPI (Indonesian Mining Experts Association). In this workshop, Ir. Rizal Kasli outlined various initiatives and programs accessible to the Mining Engineering program, including the "PERHAPI Teaching" program, which allows universities or other institutions to request free lectures from PERHAPI professionals, such as specialized courses on mine planning and mining law. Ir. Rizal also highlighted the collaboration with the Indonesia Stock Exchange for CPI evaluations of each company, and the importance of competencies in mining and metallurgy developed through PERHAPI's working groups.
The workshop also discussed five competency development pathways offered by PERHAPI: LDP, LSP, CPI, and various professional training from metallurgy to economics. Ir. Rizal explained the bi-monthly drilling and blasting conferences and the various LSP certification schemes approved by BNSP RI, covering operational, occupational safety, and mine planning. Students can also obtain certifications in K3 and mine planning using software from PERHAPI. Additionally, PERHAPI has an international network under CRIRSCO, encompassing the USA, South Africa, China, Australia, and Indonesia. This workshop also promoted IMPJ PERHAPI as a free web journal for students and the student chapter program, which allows students to develop themselves and expand their networks through national seminars and competitions.
