A Guest Lecturer Lecture for the Sharia Financing and Investment Course was held which presented Dr. Setiawan Budi Utomo, Lc as Deputy Deputy Secretary of the DSN-MUI Daily Executive Board [BPH] with the topic “Financial Institutions, Types of Sharia Financing and Investment for the Agricultural Sector in Indonesia”.  This lecture was attended by 4th semester Agribusiness Study Program students.

The main discussion presented was that the financing and investment mechanism for the agricultural sector would be easier if it adopted a sharia scheme because it was more flexible and could adjust to the farming system of each agricultural commodity. In addition, the existence of zakat and waqaf is a new driver to facilitate farmers in obtaining financing and also farming investment. The sharia system will also help the development of the agricultural sector from upstream to downstream which will further strengthen the community's economy.
