Jakarta, October 30, 2023 - Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Jakarta held an exciting Guest Lecturer event titled "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Islam." The event was a fantastic collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Technology of UIN Jakarta and Universiteit Leiden, the Netherlands. The event resulted from a tremendous partnership between UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Science and Technology and Universiteit Leiden, the Netherlands. Two distinguished speakers, Reza Shaker Ardekani (Postdoctoral Fellow) and Bart Barendregt (Professor of Anthropology of Digital Diversity), have shared their profound insights on the impact of artificial intelligence technology on the future of Islam.

This Guest Lecturer event aims to combine an understanding of advanced technology with Islamic religious values and principles. It is part of an effort to understand how AI can be used and directed for the benefit of the Muslim community and how Islam can guide these technological developments. Reza Shaker Ardekani, a Postdoctoral Fellow from Universiteit Leiden, opened the event with an informative presentation on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and how these technologies can enhance the understanding of Islam. He highlighted how AI can help analyze religious texts, translate languages, and even understand social trends relevant to Muslims.
