The Mining Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Studium Generale in collaboration with the Indonesia Blasting Engineers Society (IBES) on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Theater, FST UIN Jakarta.
The session featured Ir. Dwihandoyo Marmer, Senior Member of IBES, as the keynote speaker.

In his presentation, he highlighted that blasting plays a vital role in mining and construction operations, yet it carries potential risks to the environment, workplace safety, and surrounding communities. To minimize these risks, it is essential to apply proper technology, safety procedures, and environmental management strategies.

This event aimed to broaden students’ understanding of controlled blasting techniques and promote awareness of sustainable mining practices. By integrating theory with industry insight, the Studium Generale serves as a valuable platform for shaping responsible and safety-conscious future mining professionals.
