UIN Jakarta Biology Department and Local Community Join Forces for Mangrove Conservation on Pari Island
As part of a field trip activity, the Biology Department of FST UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta conducted a Community Service Project by planting 1,500 mangrove propagules at Bintang Beach, Pari Island, Thousand Islands National Marine Park, Jakarta, on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The seedlings were sourced from environmentally conscious local residents, symbolizing a collaborative effort between academic institutions and local communities in protecting coastal ecosystems.
This activity aims to mitigate the effects of sea abrasion and preserve land area for the future. By participating directly in conservation efforts, Biology students not only gain field experience but also play a vital role in promoting sustainable coastal environments in Indonesia.
